Forest Child“The best classroom and richest cupboard is roofed only by the sky.” McMillan 1919 p5.
Forest School is a Scandinavian idea of taking the classroom outside. It's all about giving children the opportunity to reconnect with nature, take risks and use our greatest resource, the environment, to learn about the world we live in. By taking part in a Forest School children develop their self confidence, independence, self awareness and social skills. We'll explore, learn and create during every session using the woods as our inspiration. Our days include building dens, making charcoal pencils, creating musical instruments and campfire cooking. 'Forest Child' is run by Yvette McLoughlin, a qualified primary school teacher and experienced forest school leader who runs sessions for early years, woodcraft groups and holiday clubs. 'Forest Child' offers holiday clubs, parties and PPA sessions for schools. For more information use our contact page, Facebook, or call 0794 845 0597 |
We love Forest School...Can we do Forest School in school every day? It's just so much better than lessons and we've learnt all about trees.
