I can tailor the Forest School activities to your current curriculum or lines of inquiry. Sessions can also be planned around children's interests as I believe passionately in a child led approach to learning.
During sessions at Summerhill Juniors school we covered topics as diverse as tree identification, making Christmas decorations, animal track hunts, hibernation, mini beasts, woodland animals, orienteering and woodland crafts.
All sessions start with warm up games and boundary setting. Activities are then provided so that the children can get to know and learn about their woodland environment.
Health and Safety Procedures All activities are Risk Assessed by a fully qualified Forest School Leader. Children's Health and Safety are of paramount importance and all activities will be adequately staffed and discussed with the children to ensure the relevant boundaries are set.
I have an enhanced CRB disclosure and a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
We will always carry a complete First Aid kit and have an Accident and Emergency procedure for each site we visit.
How often should we run it? To get the most out of Forest School a block of weekly sessions lasting a term is recommended but equally a one off day is a great introduction to this enchanting approach to learning. Where can we run it? Forest School can be done on school grounds, in a nearby green area or in Leigh Woods
How much does it cost? £150 for a half day £200 for a full day
